The 1965Ride

CYCLING FOR EDUCATION

Now in its 14th year, the 1965Ride is an 850km cycle tour fundraising initiative by a group of passionate amateur cyclists who believe in doing something constructive to secure the educational future of those who need it most.

Funds are raised for an educational scholarship and bursary fund (overseen by The Queenstown Education Foundation) and is part of a broader vision to support the development of Eastern Cape schools and to provide talented youngsters with the opportunity of a lifetime – a good education.

Next tour starts Wednesday the 10th of April, from Life Hospital Suikerbosrand, and will finish in Queenstown on The Rec at 13h00 on Thursday the 18th 2024.

Vanilla Payroll is excited to announce our sponsorship & support to this worthy cause. We look forward to being part of the 1965Ride Family.

We backed East London dancer, Lanelli Meek, who placed 8th for urban styles senior, and helped him shoot for the stars! Quite literally, at the Dance Star Championships in Croatia. We are so very proud of you, Lanelli!

The Cancer Connection

The Cancer Connection is an East London NPO, with big dreams to grow into one of the leading cancer charities in South Africa.

Since it’s inception in 2022, Vanilla Payroll has actively supported The Cancer Connection each year, by sponsoring a Women’s Day themed pamper experience for the ladies in the Sista Support Group. Each of these special events brought cancer warriors together to enjoy eats & treats, connectivity, laughter and creative stimulation.

The unique focus of this organisation is to empower cancer patients to be their own health advocates by providing support in all it’s forms – with support groups, a resource-focused website, wellness workshops, care packages and toolkits – with the ultimate goal of an integrative healing experience, combining conventional and holistic care.
